Walker Brothers Ethereal disc wheels are like no other. Handmade in our UK workshop each wheel is constructed meticulously by hand lay up to a precise pattern to maximise strength to weight ratio. The Ethereal track disc has been specifically designed for optimum performance in track events where weight and and power transfer are paramount. It has fantastic lateral stiffness due to it’s wide flange to flang width and also its massive 130mm inner flange diameter. This both increases the angle and shortens the length of the rim to hub connection.
We now fit all of our Ethereal Track Discs with hybrid ceramic bearings. The Silicon Nitride used to make ceramic bearings combines a set of material properties that make it perfect for bicycle bearings. The material is hard, resistant to wear, can be made into perfectly round balls with super tight tolerances and can be polished smoother than any metal. On top of all that, ceramic bearings do not rust or oxidise.
