Ruff Nuts 30mm Tubular CX Disc

Our new Ruffnuts range sets another standard in wheel development and benefitsheavily on the technologies from our other ranges.

Our most extreme ‘Cross wheelset. Featuring a 50mm deep carbon rim in either 23 or 25 widths, the Ruffnuts 50 cuts through the mud with the minimum of wheel suck while the aero qualities of the 50m deep rim will see you accelerate on the flats.

Take a look at our accessories page and have your wheels set up for you straight from the box.

Walker Brothers “RuffNuts” range wheel sets are an excellent match to any Gravel or Cyclo-Cross machine and come in 3 rim depths for a variety of conditions and terrain, for Tubeless. Clincher and Tubular formats. As all wheels in the range are disc brake compatible in either 6 bolt or central locking, they have no braking surface which lightens the rim weight for greater acceleration and lessen centrifugal force to assist control and steering.

All wheels feature a 30mm deep, U shaped 23 or 25mm profile rim for aero dynamic effect. Once again we chose our favourite Sapim straight pull spokes with brass nipples to help prevent seizure.

Hub Options
Were big fans of DT Swiss. They’re very easy to work with, consistently accurate and rarely go wrong. We use the DT240 and DT350 as with the other disc brake hubs in our ranges. If we find a better alternative of the price, it’ll build into some wheelset. The Novotec 411/412SB is still a very good hubset for the price and provides an excellent value for money and performance balance.

DT Swiss 240. Currently our top performing disc brake hub, we choose this as our flagship hub as it’s simply the best at what it does . Retaining many of the  features of the rim version which wa built to satisfy the demand for a durable rim brake hub with the ability to endure corrosive environments. Still retaining DT’s patented star ratchet system known for high load carrying capacity and reliability. The star ratchet system can be easily upgraded from 18 to 36 or 54 points of engagement.

DT Swiss 350. This hub retains many of the features of its high end counterpart with less emphasis on weight and retaining many of the internal components of the 240. As a result they give the same performance with only a small weight penalty, but same performance as reliability.

Novatec 411/412SB disc hub
We still retain Novotec as a budget hub for our disc range for the simple reason is that provided you look after them, they work well and still build into excellent race wheels with little rolling resistance. Easily serviceable with basic tools, when we’ve built them up, they still weigh in lightest of our range.

While we endevour to keep a stock of our most popular models, the nature of our business and the range of options we offer makes this difficult. In particular the hand built nature of some of our wheels from raw materials means we cannot always supply demand. For this reason we ask you give us 2-3 weeks before we ship your wheels unless you contact us direct before ordering.
